Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method for permanent hair removal.

Hello and welcome to Coastal Electrolysis.

I am Shawna Campbell, owner and your licensed electrologist. Like many other professionals in the field, I was introduced to the beauty and skin industry as a client. I became interested in learning and teaching all of the proper, safe, and effective permanent hair removal treatments. So, that's where it started.

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is permanent hair removal through electrolysis and thermolysis techniques. Using state of the art technology, a minute amount of electricity is gently applied to the base of the hair follicle.

This process destroys the hair growth tissue. As a result, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated.

Shawna was easy to talk to, and made me feel great during my appointment. She is skilled and our hour-long session went by quickly, with almost no pain, despite having sensitive areas treated.

I'd highly recommend her. I purchased the session through Groupon, and I ran ten minutes late. She could've easily subtracted that from the session length, but she was so gracious and understanding. I will definitely be going back to her in the future!

I can't say enough about Shawna. Very informative for the first-timer who was a little nervous!

She is always right on time and makes scheduling a breeze. Her office is very clean with convenient parking. She does an amazing job. She is very friendly and supportive. Once my treatments are complete, I will really miss her!

– Maya K. from Carlsbad

Shawna is absolutely amazing. She is very professional, knowledgeable and everything is so clean.

I love that she is so detail focused! The essential oil aroma and laid back music that plays allows for me a relax and rejuvenate during the treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work on my skin type?

Unlike Laser electrolysis is successful on all skin and hair types.

Does it hurt?

Because the follicle is a natural opening of the skin, the insertion of the sterile probe is not felt by the client. What the client may actually feel is the application of the current and we will adjust the treatment levels to your comfort and tolerance.

What is the difference between Laser and Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is 100% PERMANENT for hair removal and is successful with all skin and hair types. Electrolysis may be used for hair removal on most of the body including areas that you may not treat with laser such as under the eyebrow, ears, areas covered by tattoos and dark skin. No other hair removal method can claim such universal acceptability with permanent results.

How long will it take to remove the unwanted hair?

It is impossible to know in advance how many treatments will be needed for a particular person. Due to the nature of hair growth, several treatments maybe required per area to achieve a permanent effect. Factors such as hair growth cycles, the quantity and structure of hair, alternative hair removal methods, hormone function, heredity, certain medications and stress influence the treatment program for each individual. Electrolysis is effective on all types of skin and hair. No other hair removal solution can claim such universal success. It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan to achieve optimum results.
